Teeny Abigail

**Update, we are just $593 away from meeting the goal at which point Abigail will receive and additional adoption/life grant of $1,500.  Please donate so that she can reach her goal, you money will be doubled***

I think I warned you that this one would do you in, right?  Too cute?  Too special?

I have to  warn you of her charm, her petite simple beauty and contagious spirit, she will grip you.  Darling, but in need, medically and physically.  Cascading curls, a grin and a heart longing for a mama, as alone as she is precious, as worthy as she is in need.

Two things:

1.  She is an angel, captivating.  Seriously, so cute.

2.  The personality.  Vivacious.  Endearing.  Kind. This is written by people who have met her:

When she saw another child upset and crying, she moved over to her and gave her friend a long hug.”

Stop it…  🙂 She is so tiny for her age, but her personality is explosive. She is very smart. She told me all the names of the caregivers and children. When she sees someone she shouts,

“Come!”

and taps on the ground next to her. She is so loving, compassionate, and so kind.  She frequently hugs the other children on her own doing.”  Spilling over with kindness in the depths of an orphanage.  Her tiny self, unhindered by her surroundings or her own medical needs, giving love to the other forgotten children where she lives.

Abigail and her dynamic personality, ready to give and receive love, to be seen, but has so many set backs in her little body.  Small, but mighty.  Abigail was born in January 2011 and has been diagnosed with spina bifida and hydrocephalus for which she has received a shunt.  Abigail was recently seen by an orthopedic surgeon who noted that her spinal deformity and spina bifida are severe. He believes that Abigail is paraplegic and will not be able to walk in the future. Her spine will need treatment to correct its position and improve her sitting posture as well as upper body skills. Abigail is able to use her hands very well, moves around freely on the floor and sits unassisted. She struggles with solid food because she does not chew very well, but reportedly has no trouble eating cookies and candy. While Abigail is very vocal, only about 50 words in her vocabulary are completely clear to understand.

Girly needs some speech therapy, and some medical care, a mommy and daddy to tell her everything will be ok.  Even though that’s the case, why do I see her family as the ones being the most blessed of all?  (I imagine her in an Elsa dress, or with her own dollies if she were to get a family of her own, right??  No more loneliness…)

“Whoever adopts Abigail will be so blessed. I think she will excel in a family, and the reward for being her mom would be the biggest blessing to anyone.”

What I am wondering is, for a child as special and sweet as her, I wonder if she can find a family, too? But…I don’t know if you’ll be able to handle her sweet face.  She is so beautiful, her smile knocking out a thousand stars, soft dark curls cascading around her face, long rich lashes, and a personality for day.

Hi mommy!

She needs out.  Abigail needs help.

“What is your resolution for 2015?” someone will ask you.

“To help and ensure an orphaned child joins a forever, loving family.”

They will fail to mention their oil pulling they recently picked up.

I wish so much I could be the one to make it happen, alone, to be leaking funds out the sides enough to make it happen, but I can’t. Couldn’t. But together, each person, $5, $11, $200, a college student, single mom, families already adopting a lost child of their own, a young couple, you and us, a small sacrifice fleeting but strong, IT ALL ADDS UP!!  Please, please join us.  Be on her team, for Abigail.  Medical care, love, affection, a forever.   A forever life changed.  Because of you.

Don’t worry, all alone, you or I couldn’t do much to change her circumstances, or her life.  It takes small deposits, together as one. One more girl, perhaps her family will bring home a sibling like the others before. One more chance to change, gouge marks into the cart set on a slow path on it’s way to destruction as we pull it back, “Not this one.”

I am thankful for each of you who know the worth of a child’s life, fighting the invisible war against fear, hopelessness and death.

AND, because you are special and so is Abigail, and the SOONER she is seen the better, I have something special just for you;

1.   Every person who donates is automatically entered to win a couple prizes mailed to their home, first being a Kindle Paperwhite.  Andrew got one for Christmas, they are pretty amazing, he has been reading more than I’ve ever seen him prior, and loving it.

2.  Secondly, this beautiful handmade Serengeti Noonday necklace, I chose it because it was the top seller, and beautiful.   I want it to be yours!

An instant favorite. Paper beads and hammered metal discs cascade down in bold shades reminiscent of the flora and fauna of East Africa.

2.  You will also be entered to win a really special essential oil, this one is a daily for so many needs.  A big bottle of Peppermint!  (See, and you thought you were just changing a child’s life for the better!)

Anyone who donates over $100 will receive two entries to be chosen as a winner for the two prizes.

3.  Thirdly, you are high rolling today because there is a $1,500 matching grant!  Whatever you donate will be super charged, becoming so powerful, breaking Abigail free!  (ex //A $100 donation will become $200! )

She doesn’t have too much use of her legs at this time, but can scoot on her bottom. She has noticeable curvature of her spine. She needs that corrected. It could improve her physical abilities a lot. We put her in a walking position and she could put some weight onto her legs. She laughed so hard at herself when she was ‘walking.'”

How far could Abigail go if she were in a family of her own?  There is only one way to see…would you be willing to join me?  To help us out?  If you do I will give you the biggest virtual hug.

One less hurting, lonely child…because of you!

Please donate to her fund here as we chip away at the matching grant:  http://reecesrainbow.org/79238/abigail

Love you guys!  Thanks for reading.  Let’s help Abigail’s family find her.  Please share, her story, please donate if you would be willing.  (Please leave a comment if you do so I can enter you for the prizes)

I noticed Abigail about a year ago — she’s so tiny and cute! My daughter is also miniature, though not as much as Abi, I’m guessing.

My orphan I’m concentrating on for this year is Marv (http://reecesrainbow.org/?s=marv). There have been several ladies shouting out for him and raising his grant from 0 to over $1100, but so far no interest at all.

Donated $50. THANK YOU for advocating for the RR children and getting their faces seen by so many potential families and donors. We have a little girl about Abigail’s age, also small in size due to being a preemie at birth, so Abigail is very special to me. Her smile is so precious!
