Oh my mother’s day, was so sweet. How could you not have the best day when you wake up to this business going on:

We took a bike ride, a long slow one, watching the kids on an old dirt road we know about. The boys picked up their feet on their balance bikes, vying for our attention as we feed them a steady diet of encouragement.
I looked at my three kids and felt so happy, peaceful. They and Andrew had worked so hard to make this day special for me.
That morning, Maria gave me something she had been working on in school. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it definitely wasn’t this:
She had been working on it in the library with her friend and the kindest librarian.
It was a 26 page book, each one filled with the thoughts from her heart about our family, for me.

She was so proud and excited to give it to me. Andrew and I were blown away at the time and care that went into it.
She smiled along as I read it, as I felt like there would be no way for me to thank her enough for this gift.

Andrew told me that my gift was any home project. ANY! That day. Oh, what a guy….
So I knew it would be the brick patio with all the uneven bricks, toddler tripping zone.
Meaning, for Mother’s Day, we got a jackhammer, and moved a lot of brick. Luckily… we had a pretty sturdy crew, real pros.

Maria even got to hold the jackhammer, right after I gave her a haircut.

That night, we went out for Mexican food because we had a gift card, and filled up on the free chips prior to eating.

I think it was one of the most special days I have ever had. All because of the people in my life. I get to be the mom to these three incredible little people and wife to a thoughtful, humble, wise husband.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you wise, incredible mommys out there.
I may not know you, but I am telling you honestly that you are beautiful, strong and life changing. Your unique gifts, thoughts, emotions, abilities are no accident and meet your children where they are. Although there are no perfect parents, your love transcends and meets them where they are, giving them what they need most. You are life giving as you breathe new growth into a child, more powerful than you may know, just by being you. Just by loving, just by transforming people by your presence and decision to love.
I hope today you know that deeply.
