“Mama, you’re totally missing out, these are deee-lish!” |
Recently when Elijah’s speech therapist came over, she came to both boys and I in the avocado trees. She thanked me for letting our kids explore, climb and get dirty.
“Um….you’re welcome?” I laughed.
She told me she goes into a lot of homes where the kids aren’t allowed to go out often, and when they do they can’t get dirty.
“Oh man, well, that’s impossible here, plus I think dirt is good for kids.” (Cute, encouraging older speech therapist, such a sweetie) “They need to explore their world!” she exclaimed.
Finley was so into the leaves I actually tried one as well, it was so gross and tart, way too tough.
“Finley, do you like these so much?” I asked him laughing, not showing him that I was spitting it out.
“Yeah mama, watch, I get more!”
“Oh honey, why not…”
I love his adventurous spirit of trying new things.
And look at all the baby avocados! It looks like we will have a big crop this year, which will be so good. I heard recently that if you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one food, avocado would be the way to go, it provides so many nutrients and healthy fat.

his smile is soooo much like his big sister’s smile ! 🙂
I love this! There is an herb garden at Icarus’ preschool and his teachers say that he is constantly over there just picking the different herbs and smelling them and tasting them and then wanting other people to smell and taste them with him. He is always coming home FILTHY and it makes my heart so happy because he is my little nature boy!
This is hilarious! I agree, a little dirt never hurt anyone. Adorable!
