Very First Day

New crayons, a pencil box with two new pencils, lunch packed in her new flowered lunch box.  She was ready for her first day of school this morning.

She was excited, but hung close onto mama’s arm when we went inside.  Hoping her teacher is secretly sweet on the inside, but we saw our buddy Silas, who also happens to be from Russia, who is in her class!

They will love you sweet girl, just keep shining like you do.  Daddy and I are so proud of you and love you so much.  But guess what?

We miss you so much already.  It’s just not the same without you here this morning.

Good thing it’s a charter school just a couple days a week 🙂

We know you will make lots of friends, and that you will be an amazing helper to all you meet.  And guess what else, we have a special present just for you when you get home!

Love,
Mama

I was introduced to your blog through my friends, the Moyers. I’m finding it hard to put into words how much your blog is blessing me. I’m single, struggling with illness, and losing my home. I get low as I look around me, all these “things” I’ve accumulated; so hard to let go. Then the tears streaming down my face start coming from joy as I read your fun recollections of the day and see your beautiful pictures. Thank you for sharing your experience and being so genuine–I’m sure you thought you might reach current/future adoptive parents; please know how poignantly God has used your digital lives to reach me. I also helps that we share the same musical taste. 😉 Much love to your family!!!
