Family Photography!

I am so excited to be doing family photography.  It was kind of born out of the blue, a mix of a beloved hobby, my love for kids, and a desire to fund-raise for our adoption, and here we are.

I think it has been extra fun for a few reasons:

I think that sometimes families can put a lot of pressure on themselves when doing a photo shoot to make everything perfect, then it ends up being stressful, especially when there is a big chunk of money involved, and all you want is a good picture.  It’s nice to offer my services to people on a donation basis, because it’s more casual and takes the pressure off (which produces better pictures!)  I love capturing family memories for people who would otherwise do without because of price.

I am a teacher first, so it’s always been my job to make kids smile, then a photographer second.  I love having parents see pictures of their little ones smiling together so they can cherish these fleeting, sweet years forever.

I would totally shoot photos for everyone for free because I love it so much, maybe one day when our kids are home and the adoption is over 😉

If someone was going to donate anyways, because they are amazing, they might as well get their Christmas photo shoot done.

I recently booked a session of a family for an afternoon when all the cousins would be together for the first time ever.  So special.

I recently did a family shoot, and when I asked the parents to get together, they said they had never gotten professional shots of the two of them done before.  Ever.  (Such an honor to be the one to do them!)

I recently booked a maternity shoot with a family who had said that they had decided they couldn’t afford to do them, until they saw my flyer.  So special to be able to capture this for them and for their little one to always remember.  I treasure my maternity shoot.

I would love to book some this month, before we travel, because once the kids get home, my hands will be, um, full!  🙂  So lets do it!

What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life – to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories.
