God has turned our sorrows around this week, and filled us with JOY! So, instead of moping for our kids, we decided to pour the love we feel for them onto others, and it’s been refreshing to our spirits, and well, fun!
We had people over each night of the week. First, our dear S. Andrew and I can’t put into words how proud we are of this girl. The choices she’s making, the new life she lives. In fact, I think watching her life unfold in the past three years, even through the hard times, is one of the reasons we’ve been open to “older child” adoption. It doesn’t take much more than love, and a tiny bit of guidance, and encouragement. “You are worth more, you are SO LOVED!”
And when you sit back and see the life God had always planned for them unfold, there is no greater joy in the world. She now ACTIVELY invests in the lives of others, and has a gift and talent for it. She loves on our son! I remember ‘fighting’ with God one night, years ago, “GOD! Don’t you care? Why does it feel like I am the only one fighting for her!?” when He was there the whole time. 🙂 Haha, oh man, sassy me.
Since we’re adopting we normally do BYOM at our place, but we just found out you can get a whole chicken to BBQ for $5, meaning $5 to feed 5 people!
Then, over the weekend, we joined friends at Jazz in the Park for free music on the lawn. Our hearts were so full!
Mama, pass the beans, k? |
Best part was finally getting to meet baby Olin who was born while we were overseas.
We also had to get a family shot with Hawea, right? Finley would have it no other way |

I think it’s fortunate that our wait for court is over summer, when our schedules are packed! Can you believe we are two weeks closer to having them home? YAY! In fact, we could be traveling back as soon as next month! (Pray for us!!! 🙂
Sophie’s party was “THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!” -Finley
Ok, ok, enough pictures, want to be a part of something TRULY AMAZING??
Ok, last night while browsing RR, we noticed a little girl. “WE KNOW HER!” Andrew said. “No we don’t,” I said. “YES! We do! Let’s look at our pictures!” As it turns out we do! She was one of Maria’s friends in her orphanage! Her RR picture was SO sad and forlorn, so we found one, not even the best one ever, but one of her smiling and sent it in! Last night she had less than $100 in her fund, now she has over $500!!! This girl needs a family already, right? Come join the fun and watch her miracle unfold here:
Let’s make her orphan status a thing of the past. Invite your friends! It’s fun.
Spread the word, this girl needs to come home! 🙂
LOVE,
A
