On Sunday morning my husband woke up at 3:30am to go run a a half marathon. A half marathon he decided to run two days previous. The night before, we ate ribs and homemade ice cream.
That afternoon, we decided we should do something fun and relaxing.
A beach day with friends seemed like a good match, “if I can can walk down the beach cliff without my legs giving out,” said Andrew. “It’s worth a shot,” I say.
“YIPPEE!!!! I love the beach! I love my baby girlfriends!!!” -The Tiny. Finley hadn’t seen Nakoa and Hawea in a whole week, since they spent the weekend at the cabin in the woods, he felt long overdue.
Here he is, waiting for his friends.
“Gosh, I sure do wish I had someone to share these toys with. In the meantime, I’ll just give them some of my specialty taste tests.” -Finn
First baby to see was Hawea! She already had her favorite snack: sand.
“Hi Hawea, I have been missing your pretty face. Wanna hold hands? Or would you rather hold my duck? Don’t worry, it’s taste tested.” -Finley
Next, cutie pie Nakoa came to play.
Until, Finley finally decided that it was time to spend some time with the guys. “Boy time,” if you will.
Finally, we kicked off our shoes, and headed to the water to dip some tiny yet chubby toes into the chilly Pacific, foamy edge.
I have come to the conclusion that sand will permanently line my diaper bag, and baby California Baby sunscreen will be a permanent monthly cost, but I am happy to suffer through such luxuries. My husband’s poor legs relaxed in the sun after taking their marathon beating, Finley shared some sandy toys and coos, and us girls talked in hushed voice about a first father’s day coming up for some important guys in our lives.
