Last week, all of my babies, I mean high school girls, graduated from high school. Oh my! Between the 9 of them, they went to 5 different schools, so Andrew, The Tiny and I did our best to make it to each of their graduations with bouquets of flowers and happy dances.
We usually had to park only about 55 blocks away and trek it down to whichever field, community centers or amphitheater it was being held.
“Pick up the pace mama, we gon’ be LATE!” -The Tiny. He had it easy in the moby…
At Carlsbad’s graduation, we heard Sarah’s beautiful singing, (she sang in front of 5,000 people! Yes, she will be famous on day. Here she is at grad night with The Tiny.) What a beautiful treasure, inside and out.
After graduation, The Tiny Team headed to Pollos Maria to fill our bellies.
|You can tell by his expression that he totally thinks he is going to get some pollo. But alas, his food was pureed. I so wish that van in the background was ours!|
“Hey Papa, it’s not like I’m trying to dismiss your thought pattern, but I distinctly remember asking for pollo, so….put that spoon down, yeah? Oh wait, nevermind, I love this baby food…” The Tiny still has yet to try a food he doesn’t like.
“Oh hey mang, your kid, he cute. He smiling at me.” Says the busser. “Oh yep! I think he really likes you!” I say, not mentioning that he does this to most people. Come on! People like to feel special and between Finley’s smiles, and my reassurance that it’s just for them, I think we nailed it!
I am SO proud of you babies, I mean young women. I am so excited for your future and the path that God has for you. I know most people thought I was crazy to keep leading group with a newborn, but we knew what was up! I am particularly blessed because I know that you will escape the trappings and downfalls of so many other young women your age because you know the truth: God. Loves. You. He is flippin’ passionate about you.
And when you know that…it changes everything.
Keep serving others first, stay humble and keep splashing your joy all around the world!
I LOVE YOU!
