*pssst hey!*

Hi!  I am thinking about writing again.  We have been through a good season of changes in our lives, all positive, healing and growth, and it was a time I wanted to rest from writing anything.  I liked the break.  Part of me misses the old style of writing on a blog–when I had blogger instead, lol, perhaps I can intentionally go that way.  There are things that can sway me against it.  But here’s where I rest:

  1.  I like writing
  2. I like connecting with people
  3. I think there are some great things in this world to share about

And if that’s my whole list, well that’s wonderful!  We are in a new stage of parenting, cute and growing kids, and it’s been wonderful in so many ways.  Andrew and I have been focused on healthy this past year–healthy eating, healthy emotional relationships and learning what creates them all.  How can we lead our children down a path of healing and healthy-motivated relationships if we don’t know the path?  (Especially crucial for those parenting teens!!  But little ones love learning it all as well)  It’s so interesting learning the secret dances people do behind what’s actually being said and done.

But…I feel like I’m already ahead of myself…

I have an idea, and I hope that you’d play along.  I would love to ease back into writing by answering some specific questions–more fun, interactive.  I think it would be fun, and a great we to get back connected to those of you wonderful people who read here.  So fun questions, silly questions, catch up questions, anything, I would love to hear them.

In the meantime, I hope you have all been well

Love,

Amy

I have enjoyed following your fun little family. I love how you are so aware of them and their needs and all you do to help them be all they can be.

How are the kids doing with the language?

Thank you Holly! Great question, would love to address it 🙂

How are you taking time for yourself while raising your brood, maintaining a household, having adult relationships, and all the other aspects of adulting???

    • tinyteam July 17, 2017, 2:35 pm

SOOOOOOOOO important! Such a good question! Thank you Laura!

I miss you writing! I’m always curious how the kids are doing. Oooohhh…and maybe a “where are they now?” with some of the people you’ve helped. I wonder about that too.

    Hi Amy !
SO nice to see you back ! 😉
The children seem all grown up and happy !
I love all your insight on adoption, a perspective I am myself pondering. I have the impression that maybe adopted kids have a – greater than most kids – need of attachment and fear of abandonment. How do you deal with jealousy between your kids, if there is any?
In your case, I have been wondering how the arrival of Poppy may have moved your family balance around, and how Elijah deals with it, being the second youngest.
Also, do your adopted kids spontaneously talk about their “before” life?

Such great questions, love it! I’d love to write about this 🙂 Thank you!

Would love to hear wisdom, experience, or hopes and fears for the future around interracial adoption, raising an interracial family, or whatever thoughts you have around this. Especially in today’s world…

Oh, good one, but tough one. I’ll see if there are some things I’d feel comfortable with sharing on these topics 🙂 Thank you for asking!

I’ve been following for years and I literally was like “oh, yeah, a new post!” when I got the email about this post! haha. I would love to learn more about how the kids are doing now (what you’re comfortable sharing, of course). I’ve also really enjoyed your posts about gardening, recipes, healthy lifestyle in the past. Your blog is so good for the soul!

    YAAAASSS! lol
    1) Is it easier to help children temporarily (respite, hosting, etc.) when you have your own children i.e. does it make it easier when they leave?
    2) Budget tips! Help me not spend money! You already helped me so much recommending Marie Kondo’s book such a life changer.
    3) How do you work on attachment when your kids have difficult behaviors? Also, teaching responsibility and life skills without being overly critical of kids?

    • tinyteam July 17, 2017, 2:32 pm

lol, loooooove it! These are such good quesstions, could do a whole post on each one!!! And these are some of my fave topics 🙂 THANK YOU for asking!

    Love your writing!
    -Men/ fathers and adoption
    -daily family rituals
-raising boys vs girls, just had my first boy and I have a list of the must do and must read I want to do with my daughter but feeling a little lost with the boy side. Of course lots of things overlap
    -favorite children’s books with meanings
    -marriage with kids

What books are you reading or have recently read?

  • Alysha July 26, 2017, 11:49 am

Yay! So glad to hear your back! Missed your writing.
I’d be interested in the current paths you’ve chosen for each of the children’s schooling – finding the right spot can be hard. I know you’ve written about it in the past… just wondering how that’s progressing.
