turns out…

Turns out, if you are on multiple months and months long waiting lists for your child who is struggling, who is being teased and excluded because he can’t function in the unfair school setting he is in. When it starts affecting his heart…

It turns out if you call them ALL last week *WHILE*crying, I mean really just bursting into tears on their answering machines…

Well guess what? All the waits are over, and they make it rain appointments. Like the Oprah of all the appointments, “YOU GET AN APPOINTMENT, AND YOU, AND YOU!! ALL OF THEM!!” They call you and say, “How about a standing appointment each week.”

And since you are very rational and a put together grown up, you calmly say,

“Well his nap is very important, so you will need to work around that,” you say very professionally, suddenly weighing your plethora of options

I’ve kept him home two days from school, just because no. And today is the first appointment just for him. “Are you ready for this Elijah? How does your school make you feel?”

Falling his whole body onto my leg, “Not great.”

“But this week, there are all the people who will help you!! Just you! How does that feel?”

“Exciting!”

I love that he will get what he needs to thrive in his school setting. Precious boy.

Prayers for you and your family. What a heartbreak for such a sweet kid to have to endure that situation. Thank goodness Elijah has you and I do believe you will do anything for your children, as evidenced by your actions this past week. Good luck going forward, I hope this is resolved satisfactorily.
