Organized Toddlers

Andrew called me into the garage and told me to look for the boys.

It actually took me a couple of moments.  They were being so quiet.

I know what you’re thinking…

I have two real cute tea dates.

These two were champs when we helped a friend scope out her wedding spot.

In the Mexican tradition, all children and even non invitees come to weddings, but since Andrew and I are helping pull off the day of, we told them the boys would probably have stay home with a sitter.  Their max capacity of a confined, indoor space is about 1 hour–which is pushing it.

Friday night friends and I are doing flowers, (Well, Mindy is going to tell us what to do ;), Andrew was going to perform the ceremony until someone who speaks legit Spanish was found.  Everyone pitched in here and there, and now we can’t wait for the big day!   We love you Connie and Eddie <3  Connie is  real, amazing blessing of a friend, a real inspiration. *** Maria’s piano teacher emailed us to tell us about a piano recital coming up, “I don’t want to freak her out, I know it’s a lot of pressure, but I will tell her about it today…” I picked her up from piano and she bounded to the car, “MAMA!!!  GUESS WHAT!?!? I GET TO PLAY IN A….A….THING!!!  I am so excited!!”

“Cool, I love things!”

“Hmm, maybe I will be nervous?”

“Maybe a little, but you will have fun!  I can’t wait!”

So exciting!  She is so diligent to practice every day, and sets a timer.  I love hearing piano music in our home, and now the boys think they know how to play too.  We egg them on.

In other news, I made homemade rolls the other night and Maria told me to take a picture, ’cause, ” Oh my gosh, mama, they sooo good!”  She makes me feel like the best cook.  But then today, she told Bonnie and I how she used to have to eat raw potatoes in the orphanage, so then I realize my cooking could actually still be mediocre at best.

Sometimes I wish I could be as excited for anything as Maria is when she sees I am cooking hamburgers, or whatever it is I am making…

Her joy is contagious, even the boys get all whipped into a tizzy for dinner seeing her.

“Finley smile, we are takin’ a picture!”

Yay for piano! I was a classical pianist for many years. One of the best thing you can do for your kids! 🙂

Can I just say that we could be BFFs with your non-helmet wearing shelf residing kids? That ROCKS!

God bless your dear friends as they commit their lives to God and each other. All of the details of the day will come together in a lovely way. Remembering the beautiful (with no pink-I-think) bridal bouquet you made a few weeks ago.

How exciting that Maria gets to play in a “thing”. I love how she shares her thoughts and emotions with you. She and the boys feel safe and loved – so loved. Thanks for sharing the beautiful blessing of adoption.

All the kids are soooo adorable! Please could you tell me who the artist is who is singing in the background of your blog?
