Please pray…

Oh my goodness, we are heartbroken at the news in Russia. Russian politicians didn’t like a bill signed in the US this month, so their retaliation against the US is to close all adoptions of orphans to Americans.

There are more than 80,000 children living in orphanages where the children receive such little care it’s heart breaking. We’ve seen it with our own eyes, porridge 2 times a day and a life in a crib for the little ones, warehoused for the older ones.

Please pray…I know they aren’t your kids, they are no ones kids, which is why they can’t fight back when they are used as a political move. We actually saw the baby in the crib across from Elijah throw up just so she can have something to eat, a little boy drag himself everywhere because he has CP and no wheelchair. Amnesty International has spoken out about the ban, many countries and people have, but it has moved ahead today, waiting Putin’s signature.

Americans adopt more children, with a large percentage being the forgotten ones with disabilities more than any other country combined. The law has passed the upper house today, and all that waits is Putin’s signature.

Adoption is their only hope, historically Russians don’t adopt the orphans.  Life within an orphanage is no place for a child, and the statistics of those who age our are heartbreaking–adoption is their hope, and it hangs in the balance right now.  No one would have adopted our two kids who are now growing and thriving. PLEASE pray, time is running out.

We have friends who have met their kids, told children they will be back, and may be banned from picking up the children WAITING for their parents…please just pray :'(

One month difference within a family.  The first picture is hard for us to look at.

I pray Putin sees his country’s smallest citizens as human lives.  I know that he would be applauded the world over for making a decision in favor of the well being of so many children.  It would bring himself, and his country the respect and honor they deserve.

I was reading about this yesterday. It’s absolutely awful that they would use these lives as leverage & punishment! Keeping these children in our prayers!

I signed the petition. I am horrified by what may be done – how can children that have already been spoken for, be left there. It is so awful. And so many other children have an opportunity for a better life. I pray he does the right thing.
