“Honey, I am in the hair bow aisle at Target because it said the little girls are super into doing hair stuff, so I think we should buy some to do with Maya.” -Hubby
“Ok, but I got a bunch of stuff to do with her each day,” -me
“I know, but it said they love hair stuff,” my sweet guy who loves to be thorough.
“Oh, no, you’re right honey, why don’t you pick out a couple things, I’m sure she’d love it!” -me
“Well, I don’t really know what to get, I mean, they have some like, hard things that go on your head…”
“A head band?”
“Yeah, headbands, and maybe like some barrets and some colorful bandy things…I seriously have no idea what to pick… there is a lot of stuff here…”
“Just pick out a couple things, she’ll love whatever her papa picks out!”
“Can I FaceTime you and you help me?”
We settled on a mini floral brush, some rainbow hair accessories, and some mini alligator clips, already tucked away in the suitcase.
“Honey, did you go to the girly hair aisle, just to bless Maya’s heart.”
“Yes, it was kind of overwhelming, but I just want her to be happy.”
Crash course in little girl stuff!
That night, we had a family BBQ.
All we need is few more to share it with!
3 more days until take off! And we get to meet her the day we arrive in the city! I like a country that is efficient!
The other day, someone asked Andrew,
“Why are you adopting this little girl.”
“Oh, she doesn’t have a family,” he responded.
