My First Mother’s Day

My very first mother’s day

I almost felt like an imposter?  Too young?  Not quite like I should be personifying the title of this holiday just yet.  But, I eased my way into it.

We woke up after a late night at 6:30, hearing The Tiny’s request for food.  I was just about ready to go back to bed after feeding him, when Andrew said we were going somewhere, so put some shoes on!

We turned up at Claire’s on Cedro’s, just before any morning rush, with still a crispness in the air.  My favorite breakfast spot!  Multi-grain chocolate chip pancakes, oh yes!  It was mother’s day after all, and as it turns out, I really am a mother.

It was so delightful, I even ordered the best soy chai I’ve ever had!

We went home in time for a nap (Much too short of a nap, I’ll let you guess why…)

Then we headed to church, where Finley was sweet enough to make me my very own mother’s day card!  I was touched!  Sweet boy

The rest of the day we spent with family, eating good food and celebrating mamas!  It was such a good, sweet day, and towards the end, I did begin to feel like I really am the mother for whom this day is reserved.

Especially when part of my view that day is gazing down on this–

Happy Mother’s Day to all the special mommies out there!

I felt that way too last year, and even this year. I still feel like I should focus on my own mom 🙂 He is adorable – his fluffy hair and big eyes are so precious!
